UX DESIGNER AT DESIGNIT

UX design, user-centred design, UI design, website development | September 2023 - now

Overview

As a UX Designer at Designit Copenhagen, I played a role in collaborating with our clients to deliver various digital and UX-oriented artefacts. I worked throughout the entire design process, from initial research, insights framing, and ideation to final implementation and client presentations.

Collaborating with partners (clients):

At Designit, I worked closely with a diverse range of clients, including one of the largest insurance companies in the Nordics. My role involved understanding their needs, objectives, and the challenges they faced. By fostering strong partnerships, I ensured that our solutions were tailored to meet their specific goals and enhance their user experience.

Deliverables

Throughout my time at Designit, I delivered a wide range of digital creations, including:

  • Mobile Apps: Designed intuitive and visually appealing mobile app interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience across different devices, in turn presenting clients with new business expansion opportunities.

  • Interactive Platform Concepts: Created interactive prototypes that allowed clients to visualize and interact with the proposed solutions, facilitating better decision-making and stakeholder buy-in.

  • Sales Channels: Developed fully functional and user-friendly sales channels for a major insurance company, enhancing its online presence and improving customer conversion rates.

Design Process

I was actively involved in every stage of the design process (of different projects), ensuring that our solutions were based on valuable insights and data. My approach included:

  1. Research and Discovery: Conducted user research, stakeholder interviews, and competitive analysis to gather essential information and identify user needs and pain points.

  2. Ideation and Conceptualization: Brainstormed and developed innovative design concepts that addressed the identified challenges and aligned with client objectives.

  3. Prototyping and Testing: Created detailed wireframes, followed by interactive prototypes, and conducted user testing to refine the designs and ensure both they met user expectations and were easy to navigate to achieve the desired goal.

  4. Handoff to devs: Collaborated with developers and other team members to ensure the seamless implementation of designs, providing detailed specifications and support throughout the development process.

Client Communication and Presentation

Effective communication with clients is at the core of being a consultant at a design agency. I was tasked with presenting design concepts, prototypes, and final deliverables to clients, ensuring they were informed and involved throughout the process. This included:

  • Conducting workshops and meetings to gather feedback and align on project goals.

  • Presenting design solutions and rationale to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or questions.

  • Iterating designs based on client feedback to ensure their satisfaction and the success of the project.

Agile Team Collaboration

Working in agile teams, I adapted to new contexts and challenges sometimes weekly, collaborating closely with developers, graphic designers, and project managers. This collaborative approach enabled us to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively, meeting tight deadlines and exceeding client expectations.

Creating Solutions

Navigating new contexts and creating innovative solutions was the ever-changing constant in my role. Whether it was designing for a new industry or tackling unique user needs, I leveraged my skills and experience to craft solutions that were not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and user-centric.
