Project - Danish Endurance
STUDENT JOB
UX research, UI design, digital design, data analysis | October 2021 - January 2023
The Task:
A fair share of my work at Danish Endurance was focused on optimising the company's webshop performance. The site itself was outdated, cumbersome to and buggy in use, it did not make it easy for clients to shop for products on mobile devices. To remedy these issues, I was tasked with performing various UX projects and constant data analysis.
My approach and solution
By using user visit recordings, heatmaps, and data from Google Analytics and Optimize, I analyzed the performance and pain points of several website subpages. For each, I conducted an analysis, seeking room for improvement. Once this step was done, I created wireframes of the page, and the presentation of new features which ought to help attract new visitors, improve the conversion rate, and focus on expediting the shop's performance. After several iterations and group brainstorming sessions, the final step of the process was to prepare ready designs for implementation by the development team.
New features on the website that I implemented
Filter app
As a skilled developer, I successfully implemented a filter app on our company's webshop, improving the way customers search for products. The filter app was designed to provide a seamless experience, allowing customers to easily find their desired items by filtering through various aspects of clothing such as size, color, and other relevant attributes. Constantly monitoring the app's performance, I diligently collected feedback and analyzed data to identify areas of improvement. With this valuable information, I consistently optimized the filter app, refining its functionality and enhancing the search process for our valuable customers. Through my efforts, we witnessed increased customer satisfaction, improved conversion rates, and ultimately, greater success for our company's webshop.
interactive product pictures
A prominent highlight of the website I developed revolves around the incorporation of enhanced interactive product imagery. Given the diverse range of endurance clothing products offered by the company, the product pictures often encompass multiple items. To enhance the customer experience and facilitate their exploration amidst the lifestyle visuals, I devised a distinctive feature enabling customers to interact with specific clothing items. By simply hovering over the desired product, a discreet pop-up window shows up, providing additional information and a direct link to the product page.
This innovative functionality has yielded substantial improvements in customer engagement and click-through rates on the website, augmenting the overall user experience and driving conversions.
REDESIGNED NAVIGATION
As a UX/UI designer at the company, I took on the challenge of redesigning and improving the navigation bar on our webshop. Recognizing the importance of seamless navigation for customers, I set out to create a more user-friendly experience. By introducing new elements and refining the existing structure, I made it easier than ever for customers to access different product types and categories. The updated navigation bar played a vital role in improving conversion rates and enhancing click-through rates (CT). Our customers benefited from a more intuitive and streamlined browsing experience, increasing their engagement and ultimately leading to higher conversions. The redesigned navigation bar was a significant milestone in the webshop's journey towards improved customer satisfaction and overall business success.
Additional tasks - graphic design:
Besides UX tasks and data research, a big part of my work at the company was graphic design tasks. From email newsletters to website banners, posters, and product pictures - I have done it all. My designs were often featured on the website's landing page and official SoMe channels. I have additionally helped with editing videos showcasing brand products, due to my previous experience with videography.
Here, you can see examples of some emails I have designed.
